My excuse is allmost always that I have not enough time for example to pray in the morning, to read the bible daily, to do posts in my blogg every other day at least once a week.
One thing we have no excuses for is to pray for our brother Hannes Buchwald and our sister Caroline Nitzer, who are on the way to China.
We should also not forget to pray for each other and I for my own shame am pretty lazy in this.
Also we need to pray for Johannes Zech who is now in Karlsruhe. By the way we are supposed to pray for our Leadership and we shouldn´t forget our friends.
If I could really do this program on a regular bases I wouldn´t need to do a fulltime job in the finance department as an accountant.

Da hat das Buch so einen verheissungsvollen Namen und dann schreibt der Rick so 'nen Stuss? *g*
Mir ist das sehr fremd geworden muss ich gestehn.
Ich hab mir noch ein paar Gedanken gemacht und muss zugeben, dass meine erste Aussage etwas platt und voreilig war.
Es ist sicher kein reiner Stuss. Allerdings sind gerade der erste und der letzte Satz potentiell missverständlich und deswegen von mir zu kritisieren. Und ich will das diesmal auch etwas deutlicher machen.
"If you are not involved in any service or ministry, what excuse have you been using?"
Diese Frage impliziert für viele, dass man sich entschuldigen müsse, wenn man nicht in einen "Dienst" involviert ist. Vor wem? Vor Rick Warren? Vor Gott? Vor Menschen? Ich denke weder noch. Es bedarf keiner Entschuldigung - wir können auch einfach nicht wollen. Aber was dieser Satz eben potentiell (und sicherlich viel zu oft) auslöst ist ein immanent schlechtes Gewissen in vielen Köpfen. Auch wenn Rick Warren das so vielleicht nichtmal gemeint hat, meine Erfahrung zeigt, dass es oft so ist. Und das halte ich für schwierig bis sehr fragwürdig. Da es kontraproduktiv ist und keinesfalls zu einem erlösten Dasein beiträgt.
"He will use you, too, if you stop making excuses."
Dies wäre eine mögliche Art den Satz zu verstehen: "Hör doch endlich auf dich zu beschweren/entschuldigen und fang an!". Das steht da nicht - aber so dürfte es in den meisten Fällen verstanden werden.
Gemeint ist wahrscheinlich eher: "Er wird auch dich gebrauchen. Hör auf deine Defizite zu sehen und vertraue ihm!". Aber selbst mit dieser zweiten Interpretation fehlt mir etwas. Ich bin der Meinung, dass es zu kurz gedacht ist. Es bleibt trotzdem ein Aufruf ohne Hilfestellung. Und der pure Aufruf zum Perspektivwechsel ist keine Hilfestellung im konstruktiven Sinn, finde ich.
Ich hoffe das macht meinen Punkt etwas klarer. Für meine erste (emotionale) Reaktion entschuldige ich mich, die hier genannte Kritik ist mir allerdings wichtig ;-).
